Richard was at his job where he works as an auto mechanic when the car behind him released from the lift and pinned his right leg.
Richard was taken to the hospital via ambulance where he stayed for nearly a month. He had an open fracture to his right tibia and a burn to the left buttock.
Paradigm assigned case manager Robin Strick, RN, BSBA, CCM to Richard’s case, and she took over coordination of his care. She oversaw the multiple surgeries done during his month-long stay at the hospital, including surgery for the external fixation of the right tibia, tangential excision of burn to left buttock, and skin graft to buttock and back.
Richard’s final physician visit under Paradigm’s direction was in October, 2018, and he was released to return to regular work duty without narcotics in November, 2018.
