A Team Effort: How Paradigm Supports Our Heroes

In the documentary film we premiered last month, Paradigm Hero Bill Griffin offers his inspirational story of survival and recovery following a truck-to-truck collision. He shares the difficulty of healing from multiple traumas and his steady motivation to return home and get back behind the wheel. He also talks about the support he received from the Paradigm Management Team—a group of experts devoted to getting Mr. Griffin the best possible care.

Today we debut a new film that explores the case management process that assisted Mr. Griffin behind the scenes. What does it take to manage a catastrophic injury like his? The Paradigm team members who supported Mr. Griffin, including his Medical Director, Network Manager and Director of Clinical Services, answer that question. Watch today to learn more about the case, the challenges they confronted and the steps taken to get Mr. Griffin to where he is today.

Paradigm Outcomes provided ongoing support to Mr. Griffin and his family throughout his treatment and rehabilitation so he could recover as fully as possible. “At Paradigm we go above and beyond,” explains Deborah Benson, PhD. “We’re looking at what we can do, and what supports need to be put in place to help this individual regain their quality of life.”

As in similar cases, Mr. Griffin’s care plan called for him to receive treatment from a high quality provider experienced in spinal cord injuries. Paradigm’s advantage is having long-standing relationships with leading centers of excellence such as Craig Hospital where Mr. Griffin received care. Together with Paradigm’s medical experts, decades of case data and clinical support infrastructure, the Paradigm Management Team was able to ensure Mr. Griffin received the right care at the right time.

“When we come to the end of our contract,” says Paradigm Medical Director Kenneth Parsons, MD, “it means we’ve met all of the goals that we set. We call them the outcomes. We spend whatever it takes; we take however long it takes to get the target outcomes achieved.”
