With essential medical workers receiving top priority in the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, we are proud that Paradigm’s Chief Medical Officer, Michael Choo, MD, also a frontline emergency medical physician, recently received his second dose of the vaccine. Dr. Choo takes his role as a physician executive seriously, and has been devoted to practicing on the frontlines throughout the course of the pandemic. As a good physician supporting vaccination efforts, he has also been participating in V-safe, an after vaccination health checker. Dr. Choo is providing real time feedback, via the V-safe app, to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding any symptoms and side effects following his vaccination. 

From playing a key role in the development of the Paradigm Contagion Care^SM product to sharing insights on the disease during national speaking engagements, Dr. Choo’s contributions to our COVID-19 response have been built on a foundation of firsthand experience. This practical approach, built on seeing COVID and trauma patients in the emergency room, allows Paradigm to apply real-time work to our medical research and development. From there, Dr. Choo can lead our expert clinical team in building clinical solutions designed to achieve the best outcomes for the injured workers we serve.

Since the emergence of COVID-19 as a public health emergency in early 2020, Dr. Choo took responsibility for developing a deep and functional understanding of the virus and the potential implications it held for the workforce. In leading webinars for Paradigm in April and July, he saw the importance of educating our own team and the larger industry with the latest evidence-based information on treating and limiting the spread of the disease.

Although there is still a long road ahead before the pandemic is behind us, this first round of vaccinations represents a critical milestone. Please join us in thanking Dr. Choo, and all of our frontline clinical staff, for being responsible leaders.
