Paradigm Heroes Inspire Hope

Beyond all the numbers and claims files are real people who are helped by Paradigm’s experienced care managers. Their life-changing experiences are inspiring. Let’s meet a few of these Paradigm Heroes.

Bill Griffin was a truck driver who suffered multiple traumas from a head-on collision with another semi. His major injuries included a spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, and severe burns. And even though he’s now a quadriplegic, that hasn’t stopped him from working hard to regain his quality of life, and even get back behind the wheel of a modified vehicle.

Then there’s Valerie Tate, who was run over by a drunk driver while walking through a crosswalk. After undergoing many surgeries for her pelvic and spine fractures, she worked hard to return to her favorite activities of yoga and spending quality time with her husband. She found further healing by blogging about her recovery.

Our third hero is Nancy Vanveldhuizen, who was driving to work when she was broadsided by a gravel truck. She nearly died of cardiac arrest during the acute treatment of her extensive injuries, but she never lost her sense of humor or generosity. Now she does everything she did before the accident with the use of prosthetic arm.

These are just a few examples of people who have made amazing recoveries with our help. We honor these Paradigm heroes and are proud to support injured people and their families throughout the recovery process.
