Recognized for Outstanding Service: William Pfeifer, MD, and Angelique Quick, RN

At Paradigm, we are inspired every day by our Network Managers and Medical Directors. They have such a positive impact on injured workers and their families.

In each quarter of the year, teams in our Catastrophic Care Management division nominate a PMD (Paradigm Medical Director) and NWM (Network Manager) based on a specific case or situation in which they went above and beyond to provide excellence in case management that had a direct impact on the injured worker’s outcomes.

Thanks to every Paradigm team member for all the great work they do.

Congratulations to our 2018 Q3 Award Winners – William Pfeifer, MD; and Angelique Quick, MHA, BSN, RN, CCM

William Pfeifer, MD

In nominating Dr. Pfeifer, Director of Clinical Services Margaret Aslakson, RN, MSN, CCM, said his recent presentation on Optimal Resuscitation of the Catastrophically Injured Worker held the team’s attention with useful information and a rich historical perspective.

Angelique Quick, MHA, BSN, RN, CCM

In his nomination, Milt Thomas, MD, Paradigm Medical Director, said Angie provided exceptional care for an injured worker  on a home ventilator in the Carolinas: “With Hurricane Florence approaching, she found a power generator (which was very difficult to do, given that they were all being shipped to the coast for use there), and arranged for home care providers, supplies, and all.  She even got the generator hard-wired into the house with automatic start should the power go out. This is just one example of all she does for her patients.”

In his nomination, Director of Clinical Services Brian Hebert said Angie did an outstanding job facilitating a discharge to home for a severely brain injured patient on a ventilator. For months, Angie put all the pieces in place and educated the family on what was required and the prognosis. “Angie went above and beyond every step of the way, working with vendors, arranging for Bayada to provide care as a pilot case, dealing with oftentimes difficult providers, and ensuring the carrier was onboard with both the transfer and home modifications that would be required,” Brian said. “This really is an outstanding outcome. I know that you will be there to proactively address any issues that may arise. Your work clearly demonstrates what differentiates Paradigm from everyone else.”
