Kids’ Chance of Michigan cordially invites the entire Kids’ Chance community to join them May 3-5 for the 2018 Kids’ Chance of America Annual at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.
The festivities will begin on Thursday evening with tours through the landmark GM Renaissance Center. The KCOA Board Meeting and Council of State Organizations meetings will take place on Friday morning while the afternoon will feature discussion sessions on diversity, fundraising and technology. We will convene as a community at the Annual Kids’ Chance Meeting and conclude Friday’s activities with the President’s Reception and Dinner.
Saturday will be devoted to Kids’ Chance College, a new program featuring a series of hands-on workshops designed to educate and empower participants with the tools to strengthen and grow their state organizations. The final event of the Annual Meeting will be a cruise along the waterways of Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River aboard the luxury yacht, The Infinity.

Welcome Activity: Tour of the GM Renaissance Center
Thursday, May 3, 2018 | 7:30 – 8:30pm
This one-hour walking tour will take visitors through the landmark Renaissance Center and will outline the rich history that General Motors shares with the city of Detroit. Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour begins at 7:30pm. Attendees are encouraged to consider dining at the Renaissance prior to the tour. There are over 20 dining options in the complex.
New First-Timers Breakfast

Cheryl Doucette, Membership Coordinator, will host an interactive discussion for those attending the Kids’ Chance Annual Meeting for the first time. Learn how to make the most of your time with the Kids’ Chance community. New members will be introduced to a “buddy” who will help navigate the two-day experience. If you are attending the KCOA Annual Meeting for the first time, please email Cheryl Doucette at admin@kidschance.org to let her know that you are interested in meeting with her.
President’s Reception and Dinner

The evening promises to be one to remember. Highlights include Keynote Speaker Dave North, President and CEO, Sedgwick, a panel of student scholarship recipients, the awarding of the Robert M. Clyatt Distinguished Service Award and much more!

New Kids’ Chance College sponsored by Coventry
We have formalized the educational piece of the Annual Meeting into what is titled, “Kids’ Chance College.” Attendees will learn about trends in financial aid nationally, best practices in the delivery of Kids’ Chance scholarships, how to strengthen your organization’s board of directors, and tactical marketing tools that will apply to your state’s marketing program. The day will start with continental breakfast and our opening speaker at 8:00am and then the formal sessions will begin with “Scholarship 101” at 9:00am. Please make sure at least one state representative is scheduled to attend the College. The takeaways are intended to benefit everyone!

The 2018 Annual Meeting will conclude with a cruise along the waterways of Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River aboard the luxury yacht, The Infinity. Exceptional cuisine and drinks will be offered while attendees enjoy skyline views and inspiring music.
