WCI 2022: Positive Impacts on the Industry and People We Serve

After last year’s event was held in December due to pandemic-related delays, the 2022 Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI) Educational Conference resumed its regular August schedule. Taking place August 21-24 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Florida, Paradigm was excited to return and exhibit at WCI as an Elite Sponsor. Over the course of four days, we partnered with like-minded organizations and shared ideas, with the goal of positively impacting the industry and the people we serve.

We would like to thank everyone who visited the Paradigm booth, as well as those who we interacted with at the many events and sessions held throughout WCI. It has truly been a pleasure to reconnect with so many partners and colleagues as the industry continues to resume in-person events.

Supporting children and the community at pre-conference events
Kicking off the weekend, Paradigm was thrilled to participate, on Saturday, in the Give Kids the World Village’s Mardi Gras Extravaganza Gala as a King Cake Sponsor. Paradigm also sponsored and volunteered at the second annual Kids’ Chance of Florida Golf Tournament on Sunday.

Paradigm leaders shared big ideas for WCI TV
During the conference, members of the Paradigm senior leadership team appeared on WCI TV to share insights and the latest updates on our organization’s expanding and growing suite of products and services:

  •  On Monday, CJ Daly, Paradigm Vice President of Surgical Implant Services, appeared to talk about the current state of the surgical implant market and the importance of having a partner that can accurately calculate appropriate reimbursements. With implant costs continuing to rise at a rate likely to outpace other indicators of medical inflation, Paradigm’s Surgical Implant Cost Management solution uses proprietary software and data, in tandem with an experienced team of experts, to generate meaningful savings for clients.
  • Also on Monday, Teresa Williams, Senior Vice President for Paradigm Care at Home, focused on our evolving home health solutions and the developments that have occurred since acquiring HomeCare Connect last year. Teresa highlighted the synergies shared with Paradigm and our commitment to whole-person care, which has helped foster a smooth integration. She also spoke to the importance of technology in home care, particularly in the wake of the pandemic, and shared the benefits of Care at Home’s innovative teletext capabilities for improving communication and patient outcomes.
  • Then on Tuesday, Chief Clinical Solutions Officer Kathy Galia highlighted Paradigm’s flagship product, HERO CatastrophicSM, particularly with respect to how it addresses behavioral health issues that injured workers and their families face and delivers measurable results. HERO Catastrophic has been the core product behind Paradigm’s ability to deliver guaranteed outcomes and full risk transfer for more than 30 years. The HERO name is rooted in seriously injured workers that Paradigm is able to help—our heroes—and a series of Hero spotlights published over the years. Along with HERO SevereSM and HERO EpisodicSM, HERO Catastrophic is built to achieve Human-centric care, specialized clinical Expertise, full Risk transfer, and guaranteed Outcomes.

Empowering positive change for women in workers’ compensation
As a continuing sponsor of the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation (AWWC), Paradigm employees attended a talent workshop for leaders held on Wednesday, the final day of the conference. The discussion, Cultivating A Strong Corporate Culture and Talent Management During the Great Resignation, covered the importance of focusing on people to develop long-term solutions that balance business needs with positive changes, including furthering equality and progress for women in the industry.

We look forward to sponsoring and participating at the upcoming National Comp conference in Las Vegas.
